5.7 "It Takes Two" Official Play-By-Play

In this most recent episode, there will be two players, who happen to be a mother and daughter duo. When I read the promo, I'm thinking will the rules be the same regarding multiple players on the U.S. version?

Anyway, this is the last aired DEAL US episode of 2018, and this could be a way to end 2018 with a 'bang.' So let's go!

The models are in yellow, sleeveless for this episode.

Howie: Hello ladies.
Models: Hello Howie! (It's Hi Howie! you imbeciles!)
(Most of them need to re-watch the original primetime version to see how it works.)

Jade Thomas comes up on stage. A wife and mother, and a former Marine, who is currently a fifth-grade teacher. If she wins the big one, she wants to help her family a lot, like most people.

For her case, she chooses #9. It's been a while since Patricia was chosen, you have to go back to season three. Jade was born in September, and hence is part of a nine-member family.

6 to open:
13: $200,000
18: $300,000
"Jade, what are you doing?" She says to herself.
21: $500
24: $10
5: $25
16: $25,000

Half and half on both sides were eliminated. Here comes the Bankress. Her first offer is $15,000. Reasonable. NO DEAL.

Howie is summoning Jade's mom Cheryl Miles on stage to play. Remember how it worked, when one contestant plays, and then they take turns? After the media time out, Cheryl now makes the selections.

5 to open:
6: $1,000
15: $5
10: $100
11: $10,000
14: $300

More left side action. Expect a higher offer from the Bankress. $46,000. In Cheryl and Jade's corner, is Jade's oldest sister, Cheryl's second oldest and only son, and twin of Jade who also served in the military. NO DEAL. Jade now takes over.

4 to open:
20: A message from A. Smith, then $400
3: $750
22: $50
1 to open...after media time-out:
23: $5,000

Not bad stuff here. Penny and dollar still in play, as are the four big ones. Bankress calls. New offer is $111,000. Bar code thousand dollars! Eleven cases left in play. Jade's verdict: NO DEAL. Cheryl takes over.

3 to open:
12: $400,000
4: $750,000
25: (after media timeout) BANOODLES!!!

Eight cases in play: 1, 2, 7, 8, 17, 19, 26, and Jade and Cheryl's case.

Bankress calls, and before the offer, pitched out an offer Cheryl can't refuse: a drum set from Guitar Center. Cheryl tests out the drums and plays the s*** out of it! Bankress gives a thumbs up! Amazing! The follow-up is a $87,000 offer, down from the previous offer. The million is still in play. Cheryl says NO DEAL! Jade takes over.

2 to open:
8: $500,000
2: $100,000

Expect a lower offer from the Bankress. Six cases in play: Cheryl and Jade's #9, plus 1, 7, 17, 19, and 26. New offer (after the media timeout): $119,000! NO DEAL says Jade.

Cheryl takes over.

1 to open:
17: $1!!!

Expect a higher offer now. Five cases in play: Cheryl and Jade's #9, plus 1, 7, 19 and 26. Bankress calls with a new offer, their highest yet: $164,000! They want to counter-offer, and they will for $210,000. Bankress says: NO DEAL. Jade takes over.

1 to open:
19: "...don't let fear conquer your life." $75,000 That's okay.

After the media timeout, a big offer is coming. 1, 7, 26 and Cheryl and Jade's #9 are still in play. $233,000 is that amount offered. Howie: "I feel like I shouldn't be here." As they were sitting down and getting up, Jade now makes the verdict, and cashes out with $236,174, including the drum set. Where was the million? Was it in 7? Nope. $50,000. Next offer would have been $315,000. Was it in #26? It was the million. In their case? $200. In #1, it was $75. A great deal and got home in time. An interesting ending to 2018 in DEAL or NO DEAL United States.

Next Wednesday, if the World Juniors isn't in your plans, why not do it again? Back to back first airings at 8pm and 9pm Central. Start 2019 with a bang! CNBC. GET YOURS!

5.5 "Beard or No Beard (Brad Falcon 2.0)" Official Play-by-Play

The only all new episode to air on Wednesday night could be paying an homage to a past episode; will it happen?

The episode "Beard or No Beard" before I even watched it, I feel that this is nothing new regarding the removal of facial hair. So let's go!

Here comes the models, a different red dress tonight.

The contestant is David Leeman. David is a historic mason, who fixes lighthouses and is a married man of nearly two decades, and father of two. If he won a million, he'd give his wife the dream wedding she deserves.

For his pick of case, he chooses #4, and Brenda brings it down.

6 to open.
12: $25,000
10: $200,000
24: $500,000!
16: $5,000
2: $5 first left side casualty.
6: $400

Bankress delivers her first offer of the night. $14,000. David says...NO DEAL.

"Hair today gone tomorrow."-Howie

5 to open.
1: Great advice from Soraya. $50
(4 more after the media timeout, and a swig of Powerade or water)

David also lost his father to cancer and it has been an emotional roller coaster for him.

We resume play.
11: $300
14: $1 Howie pinches him on the right arm.
25: $100
18: $75

Should be a good offer from the Bankress. $48,000 it is! That's over three times the previous offer! In his supporters' corner: his best friend, his wife, and daughter. David's wife also lost his engagement ring. His wife is taller than him, by just inches! Holy jumpin'! David says...NO DEAL!

4 to open.
17: $50,000
21: $400,000
5: $100,000
19: After the media time out...BANOODLES.

Now the Bankress calls. The offer is down to $30,000. David says NO DEAL!

3 to open.
Before that, Howie summons John and gives him a card, he reads "Robins Brothers, the engagement brothers wants to come to your rescue. You'll get to choose the ring of your dreams from an extensive collection." Sounds great for the wife of David. One of the models (Brittany?) presents the engagement ring, then David kneels down, and gives his wife a ring! An emotional moment in the game. The sellout crowd at Universal Studios Orlando get on their feet!

We resume play!
15: $75,000
7: $750
8: $1000

The million is still in play. Eight cases in play. After the media time out, an offer is given to David. Left in play: 3, 9, 13, 20, 22, 23, 26. Bankress calls. New offer, $117,000. 290% increase. David says...NO DEAL!

2 to open.
20: $1,000,000 Oh my.
22: "I really want you to have this dream wedding." $10

Bankress calls. $750,000 in play. Six cases in play. David's case, as well as 3, 9, 13, 23, 26. Bankress now has a stipulation: a $10,000 bonus if David accepts the challenge. The banker's drone comes out with a mirror and scissors. Brad Falcon again? Will David's beard come off? David will shave it. He then takes his scissors and cuts off the edge of his beard! Once again, this reminds me of the Brad Falcon episode late season 3 where he did the same thing! "The Cryin' Hawaiian" Brad Falcon. Not a DEAL United States first. Look at David's face as he returns into the arena! Clean shaven, and much clean looking than Brad Falcon's! Howie compares his face to Maury Povich! A $10,000 bonus will be added! The offer now is $83,000, way down from the previous offer. David will counter-offer and will pressure the Bankress to pay him $100,000. The end product: DEAL! $110,000! Just a tad bit past the Stan Stava Line!

Where were the rest of the money? What about the $750,000? In #9, Patricia revealed $25. The offer would have been $162,000. A.J. revealed $10K in #23; the offer would have been $250,000. Katie Luddy revealed $500 in #3. The offer would then go up to $405,000. Three cases left. Mahogany Lox opens the #13 to find $750,000. Two cases left. In David's case was the $300,000. Bad deal. In Michelle's case #26 was $200.

If Brad Falcon watched this episode--in the words of Charles Barkley--he would have spin in his grave. Only the second time a man had to shave on DEAL US and he looked great! After all of this, his wife got a ring, and David's $110,000 is the fourth highest earning of six aired episodes.

5.4 "$5 Redemption" Official Play-by-Play (May Contain Spoilers)

Before you read this, let's flash back to the first season. Cheryl Jackson, a pastor from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, was one of the earliest contestants on the primetime US version. The episode aired on NBC, the 28th of February 2006, part of the return week of new episodes after the Turin 2006 Olympics. Cheryl won only $5.

I'm not sure if Patricia or Megan, who were in that episode remembers it, but it wasn't embarrassing as that pig farmer from Oklahoma in season 3 who ended up with the lowest amount on the board--a penny.

Twelve years later, her son Artis Jackson becomes the first second-generation player in the history of the US franchise. Artis is a businessman, like his mom, is also from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The models are in satin, a throwback to the past seasons! Speaking of throwbacks, a clip of Artis' mom from that 2006 episode is shown on the board.

Artis chooses #5, Lani delivers, and they hug. Let's go!

6 to open.
7: $10,000
19: $5...there it is!
21: $1...goodbye!
1: $75
9: $200,000
18: $25

The Bankress calls for the first offer of the night. $29,000. Howie once again meets Cheryl in the supporter's corner. She brought her $5 check, and announced that she started a charity in which eight million meals were fed, mainly to the hungry, the needy and maybe the homeless. His wife is also in the corner, and his older brother also in the corner. Later, Artis says NO DEAL.

5 to open after the media time out.

2: $1,000
22: $200
10: $750,000 Oooh...
13: $750
8: $500,000 Oh boy...

The million is still on the board. Bankress calls. $15,000 offer, nearly 50% off. Quite a discount after two big ones were knocked off the board. Artis says 'NO DEAL.'

4 to open.

15: $25,000
4: (Brenda is a mom) $100
25: (Summer is also a mom) $400,000
24: $1,000,000 Oh s***!

$300,000 is the highest left on the board. Similar to mama Cheryl's play a dozen years ago. Bankress calls, and sends a $5 bill down. It reminded me of the grab for a bonus for a particular contestant in the 4th nighttime season. The offer is now $10,000. Artis says NO DEAL.

3 to open.

26: $300,000
(Media break in between, with Artis now directing as he takes us to break. Also known as the typical 'Alan Carter Move')

We resume play.
6: $500
20 (A. Smith was in the 4th season): BANOODLES. A screenshot of Amanza--I think--was from the 'Kobe or No Kobe' episode from the fourth season.

$100K the highest value on the board as the Bankress calls. The new offer is $17,000. NO DEAL.

2 to open. 8 cases in play--Artis' case--and 3, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 23.

3: (Cheryl is brought over to Artis by Howie) $10. TEN f'n dollars! Cheryl and Katie (Luddy) embrace aftewards!
12: $50!

We all know a big offer is coming and Artis will be guaranteed at least 60 times what his mom won back in the first season. After the media time out, the offer is $28,000. Way much than the check Cheryl has from 12 years ago. NO DEAL.

1 to open.
Remaining: 11, 14, 16, 17, 23 and Artis' case.
17: $5,000 Not bad.

New offer from the Bankress: $39,000. 5 cases in play. Artis' case and 11, 14, 16, and 23. NO DEAL.

1 to open.
23: $75,000. The $100k is still on the board.

4 in play, Artis' case and 11, 14, and 16. $30,000 is the new offer. NO DEAL says Artis.

1 to open.
11: $50,000. The $100k is still on the board.

Bankress calls again. 3 in play: Artis' case and 14 and 16. Offer went down to $25,000. Will he counter-offer? NO. NO DEAL.

1 to open.
Cheryl is crying.
14: Olga opens the case after the media time out...$300! The sellout crowd at Universal Studios Orlando is loving it!

Before the offer from the Bankress, Artis points out that case 16 was her mom's case, and it was true. Later, Artis gets his final offer of the night of $63,000, will he take it, counter-offer or swap cases?  He says DEAL. $63,000 is the second lowest amount won so far.

Where was the $100,000? In case #5 (Artis' case), it was $400, while $100,000 was in case 16. 12,600 times the amount his mom won back in season one.

As far as the throwback picture of Amanza Smith, again that was from the 'Kobe or No Kobe' episode from season 4 (the 'crossover season'). My favorite quote in the series was later in that episode by Marisa Petroro, who before opening her case said, "Can somebody pass the butter, because you're on a roll!" Funny stuff there.

Redemption is thy legacy. What will Artis do with $63,000? Who knows. Two new episodes on Wednesday night, 8pm Central. CNBC. Get Yours!

5.3 "There's Snow Place Like Home" Official Play-By-Play (You'll Like This!)

In this episode, a military wife and mother takes on the Bankress for a million dollars. The models are in all white, sleeved dresses with red lines stitched in.

Let's introduce Courtney Schlap(?). She is that contestant, from Michigan currently living in southern California and is a military spouse. She misses the snow. If she wins the million, she wants to buy a house to be close to her parents in Michigan.

She picks #4. Remember that #4 was picked already, could it be the million? Brenda gives Courtney a high five. The reason Courtney picked #4 was it is the day she was born.

6 to open.
10: $10,000
18: $400 (Alyssa is used to the cold as well...)
17: BANOODLES.
Then a shimmy. Stephen Curry better not watch.
3: $200
24: $750,000. Oh boy. Strike 1.
25: $100,000

The Bankress delivers the first offer. Before that, the Bankress' assistants bring in snow, or some powdery substance (not crack cocaine) and both poured some over her head. The offer is $16,000. She says...NO DEAL.

Courtney stays at home with parents; a common theme with  millennials and most people nowadays.

5 to open.
7: $75,000
14: $500,000 Strike 2.
26: $300
13: $200,000
1: $5,000

Bankress calls. The offer is $26,000. Her supporters are two family friends and her husband. She says NO DEAL.

After the media time out, 4 to open.

Before that, a "Happy Courtney Day" sign drops behind the supporters' corner.

11: $5
22: $25,000
2: $1
Another shimmy.
23: $500 A.J. does a semi-shimmy!

The million is still up there! 11 cases in play!

Bankress calls. $57,000 is the new offer. That's over twice the offer. 119% increase. Courtney says NO DEAL.

3 to open.

19: $750
5: $25
8: $50

Eight cases in play. Snow falls on Courtney, as a new offer is prepared. Still in play are her case as well as 6, 9, 12, 15, 16, 20, 21. After the media time out, the offer is $92,000. Could Courtney beat the system? She has to, and she will. In order to do that, she must say NO DEAL, and she did.

2 to open.

20: $50,000
9: $1,000

That's okay. Six cases in play. Courtney's case, and 6, 12, 15, 16, 21. After the media time out, Courtney's best friend Amber comes on the stage and unites. Then her parents. An emotional part of the episode. They all join the existing supporters' corner. Nothing more emotional than seeing the $1,000,000 still on the board. The Bankress calls, and her offer is now $173,000. Too hard to counter offer. Therefore, Courtney says NO DEAL!

1 to open.

15: $75!

Bankress calls, Howie whispers in the ear of Courtney's mom. She sits down. Howie tells her the offer, which is $266,000! 2nd highest offer this season. Courtney says NO DEAL. One to open, after the media time out.

To recap, still in play are Courtney's case, plus 6, 12, 16, 21. I feel that Courtney could beat the system.

1 to open.

6: $10. Thought it was a million, based on history.

Four in play. Courtney's case, plus 12, 16, 21. Bankress calls. Highest offer this season? $342,000 it is. But wait, counter-offer? Nope. Courtney says NO DEAL.

1 to open. Howie sits down. I'll host next season. Courtney joins Howie, then picks...

12: (after the media time out, and Howie gets back up) $300,000. Not bad.

Three in play. Courtney's case, plus 16 and 21. Bankress calls. New offer is $425,000. With the million and $400K in play along with $10. Husband calls for Courtney to counter-offer, and does so for $500,000, for what is in the case. Something big is about to happen here. Instead, it's a DEAL for half a million dollars! The leader this season! But where was that million dollars?

Proveouts: 16 had the million. 4 had the $400K, 21 had the $100. Good deal.

TAKEAWAY:
Courtney is one of the richest non-million dollar winners on U.S. soil, and (I think) the fifth highest primetime winner on US soil (counting daytime syndicated version).

Next up, a review of a contestant with ties to the original nighttime version. That's coming up.

DEAL US: Up to Speed: Monetary Count after 3 Episodes

After 3 episodes, your leaderboard is as follows:

Joe Variato $285,000 (5.1)
Casey Heath $133,000 (5.2)

Not bad. That's the first three episodes! There's more! Remember, DEAL is at 8pm Central on CNBC Wednesday nights! That's where it's at.

A review of the two newest episodes upcoming!

5.2 "Family Value$": Official Play by Play

Notice the dollar sign replacing the letter 'S.' Could this contestant become the third million dollar winner. I've noticed on Instagram posts--especially from the show's official Instagram account--citing that there was something 'big' that happened during the second night of the taping. Is this that certain episode?

This is the second episode of the new season, and I'm hoping that every Wednesday we get 15 weeks of back to back new episodes of DEAL US on CNBC.

In this episode, the models are in all yellow, but not a fan of these dresses. All of the models unchanged, no substitutions.

Casey(?) Heath is the contestant. She is from Sandusky, Ohio, and is a marketing coordinator. She has a big family, one of five siblings who wants a dream home located near her tractor business in Sandusky.

Based on irrelevancy, she picks #4. Remember the last time #4 was picked in primetime?

6 to open.

9: $50
2: $1
19: $75,000
15: $400
22: $1,000
17: $200,000

Now comes the Bankress and her first offer. Should she counter-offer here? The offer is $27,000. Not bad. Casey's family is introduced, including her husband, mother, among others. There is a big fan of the franchise in there; he DVR'd hundreds of episodes of the primetime version, not sure about the awful daytime version.

Bankress calls again, and here's the stipulation: for every offer, a family offer shall be eliminated. That would be an additional $5,000. For example, if she says NO DEAL that's $5,000 added! Casey tells sister Aubrey (not spelled 'Aubrie') to get the fock out. Then says NO DEAL. 5 to open, after the media time out. $5,000 added to total.

Now it's 5 to open:

24: $300,000
5: $100
12: PENNY!
14: $500,000 Strike 1.
10: $750,000 Strike 2.

If it was my way, after that $750,000 case, I would have issued her a yellow. Open a million your next case, and you're shown a red card. Game over. Make the game fast paced.

New offer: $12,000, over half down from previous offer. The next family number eliminated is John, her brother. $10,000 elimination bonus as of now. NO DEAL.

4 to open.

13: $10
18: $75
8: $500
23: $100,000

The million is still on the board. A big offer is coming after the break. Here comes the offer: $41,000. A huge improvement. Once again, a million is still on the board. Could it be in #4? Who is next for Casey to eliminate? Her other brother Jesse. Bonus now totaling $15,000. NO DEAL.

3 to open.

3: $750
25: $300
1: $200

More left side action. Bankress calls. Eight cases in play. Remaining: 6, 7, 11, 16, 20, 21, 26. New offer is--after the media time out--but first, a chair is brought out, for the dad, the superfan. He joins Casey on stage. It feels good to him. It's $77,000 for the offer. Casey now eliminates...her mom. $20,000 bonus. At the moment it would be $97,000 as the go home offer for Casey, but she says...NO DEAL.

2 to open:

26: $1,000,000 Oh boy. I thought the million would be in #4 based on history.
7: $10,000

New offer is down to $45,000. Who's next? Sister Brandy? And she's the one to go. $25,000 bonus as of now. The less supporters, the better. I propose in the future, a supporter-less game of Deal. Howie tests the chair. Casey counter-offers $65,000 to the banker or will she reject? After the media time out, we find out her answer.

Who's left? 6 in play. On stage are 6, 11, 16, 20, 21.

NO DEAL. One to open.

11: $25

Could the dad be next for a total of $30,000 in the pot? Right after the offer from the Bankress for the amount of $60,000. Dad is staying, the other brother is out. $30,000 bonus at this moment. Dad gets back in the chair. $90,000 total if she cashes out.

5 in play; left on stage are 6, 16, 20, 21. There is still $5 on the left side. NO DEAL. One to open.

After the break, it's #6. $5,000.

4 in play; left on stage are 16, 20, 21. Bankress calls. She throws an offer of...$103,000. $4,000 short of the Stan Stava Line. Will she eliminate her dad for $35,000 bonus? Or cash out? $133,000 would be the total, and in 3...2...1...DEAL!

Where was the $400,000? Not in Casey's case, it had $50,000. It was in #21. #20 had the $25,000, while #16 had the $5.

Casey remains the second highest tally this season. Next Wednesday. CNBC Prime. Get Yours.

5.1 "I'm Dancin' Here!" (Season Premiere), Play-By-Play

It's the official CNBC premiere of DEAL or NO DEAL United States. It's been eight years. That's right. Eight years since the last DEAL US episode aired in syndication in the 2009-10 season; it was a different format unlike the nighttime version. That season, their tapings were in Stamford, Connecticut (the city where NBC Sports Group and World Wrestling Entertainment's headquarters are located).

In 2018, CNBC decided to revive the franchise, and I knew the tapings would be headed east. I wish that they would be in the Atlanta area; close, but no cigar. The tapings were held at Universal Studios Orlando. A slate of 30 episodes are ordered; two of which began Wednesday, December 5. I am waiting for an episode to air live, especially to Eastern and Central time zone viewers like myself.

So let's get right to the action. Unofficially this is the season five premiere, but to me, this is the kickoff of the sixth year (counting syndication) of DEAL US.

The models are in strapless off the shoulder, sleeveless black leather dresses.

Joe Verriato(?) is introduced. He is from the borough of Brooklyn. He had a vending business that was due to the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01. His daughter is getting married, and wants to get out of debt.

Due to various relevancy to Joe, Madi Teeuws brings the #15. I think the last time #15 in primetime was chosen, it revealed a dollar!

6 cases to open:

9: $1
3: $25

Joe does some dancing!  We resume with 4:

17: $200 Joe strumming the air guitar!
7: $100
5: BANOODLES. Then some more dancing!
20: $5000

Now the bankress calls. First offer: $34,000. Not bad. Can he counter-offer? NO DEAL.

5 to open after the break...

Joe wants more. Pool, bar, palm trees, the works!

22: $25,000 Anchal wants to be invited to the pool party.
14: $500,000 OK.
6: $100,000
8: $750 and a sick celly from Neka!
19: $500 fakeout.

Joe dancing again! Disco night at the Deal! Bankress calls, Joe's backyard decorated with Cowboys and Patriots gear (he's a Giants and Steelers fan).

I like the new furniture for the support group. Like where do they get it? Conn's? Aarons? IKEA?

$49,000 offer, the roboto, and shuts the box down. 4 to open.

10: $200,000
12: Sarati is a professional dancer. Seriously. Shows some moves and $10,000 is out.
25: $10

One to open. Typical of the final season primetime version where in the middle of case selection, we go to a media time out. Typical Alan Carter move. Carter, a reality show episode director, directed the later season episodes and syndication episodes.

We resume play.

1: Soraya talks in a Brooklynite accent. $75.

More house music for Joe to dance with. I prefer trance or hardstyle. Darude 'Sandstorm.'

Bankress' new offer: $105,000! NO DEAL, with tons on the right side. 3 to open.

11: $1,000
21: $50 'Jackpot.' Dance music and Joe is dancing again!

Howie explains the board to Joe. Another typical Alan Carter move (though it's a different director here). Media time out. One to open.

4: $300,000

Bankress calls. $147,000, $42K higher than the last offer. Eight cases in play. Remaining: 2, 13, 16, 18, 23, 24, 26. Counter-offer? NO DEAL. Two to open. But wait, look out, it's his daughter! Turns around and Joe sees her!

We resume play.

18: "Keep dancing." $300!
16: $5! Joe is dancing!

Offer after the media time out! Cases remaining: 2, 13, 23, 24, 26. Here's the offer: $191,000. Joe saves the counter-offer, NO DEAL.

One to open: 13. $400. Times 1000. Expect the Bankress' offer to be lower, but it's higher: $232,000. NO DEAL. Who's left? 2, 23, 24, 26.

After the media time out, Joe has one to open.
24: $1,000,000. OMG.

$750,000 in play. Bankress' new offer: $183,000. Joe will counter to $240,000. Bankress says no deal, but why? One case to open.
23: $400. Here goes the music again. I expect him to cash out right away after this offer.

And the offer is...$285,000. Only 2 and 26 remain on the board with 3 cases in play. Joe pulls the Stan Stava and gets out of here.

Where was the $750,000? It was in #2. $75,000 in #15, and #26 had $50,000. Biggest winner so far after two episodes.

In review, I'm trying to get used to the new set. It's not like season 4 and syndication where you can actually see the banker's quarters.

Tomorrow, expect a review of the 2nd official episode, "Family Value$."

The 4th Annual Nighttime Christmas Episode: Play by Play 12/3/18

Tis' the season for some Deal-ing! The 4th annual DEAL or NO DEAL Christmas episode--a tradition dating back to 2006--aired Monday night on NBC. I refuse to read the spoilers, but these are spoilers for those who haven't seen it.

For the first time since 2010, the syndicated version, DEAL returns to television. Eight years and it's back. On NBC.

Howie introduces the models, with new music! New intros! Let's go! Here's a play by play!

Luis Green(e)? kicks off the festivities as the first contestant in eight years! He is from Jacksonville, adopted and had 11 foster homes.

Luis picked the number 10 because of his relevance of the years of foster care. Therefore, Mississippi's Vaeda Mann brings down the case. It is the ninth time (I think) #10 has been selected as the case in primetime history, and the first time someone not named Anya Monzikova brought it down.

6 cases...

8: $750
18: $500,000! Oh shit.
1: $75,000
11: $50,000
22: $1,000,000 HOLY SHIT!

Howie stops to explain the board.

We resume...
7: $500

A brand new banker: a slender woman, not the Rick Astley look alike from the past seasons.

First offer: $12,000

You can counter-offer only once! Take home or continue! Luis Green, DEAL or NO DEAL?

He says NO DEAL! 5 to open.

2: $25,000
12: $10,000
23: $25
16 (Jessica is an adoptee) $1,000
13: $50

Jessica is the second model in the US version to claim she was an adoptee (see Tameka Jacobs).

NEW offer: $28,000

Luis' family is here: his mom, his wife and his younger brother is in his corner. There's a video of the Green's first Christmas. Adorable and amazing! Summer is in tears.

Luis says no deal. 4 to open after the break. $750,000 is on the board left among those values remaining.

14: 'You got to go.' $300
21: $400,000
15: $1
19: $5,000

NEW offer: $44,000 ($16K higher than previous offer); Luis says NO DEAL!

20: A. Smith is back! $100,000
4: PENNY!
6: Megan! True blue original. $300,000

Remaining: 3, 5, 9, 17, 24, 25, 26 New offer is higher: $55,000. NO DEAL! 2 to open after the break.

3: Meet the new Katie (Luddy). Same as the old Katie (Cleary). Sorta. $100
9: The elder stateswoman. The captain of the ship. Patricia Kara. $400

6 cases left in play, $750,000 left. New offer. $102,000; $5,000 short of the 'Stan Stava Line.' Stan was a contestant in season 2 and won $107,000. He is from my hometown. NO DEAL. One to open.

Luis' mom diagnosed with breast cancer, but stopped to announce her good news healthwise.

We resume play. He picks 25. $200.

Banker's new offer: $140,000!  NO DEAL! One to open. 5 cases in play.

Luis picks 26. Michelle de Leon just got engaged. $200,000. $750,000 in play.

Luis' new offer: $129,000, $11,000 off the previous offer. 4 in play. NO DEAL!

$750,000, $5, $10, $75 left on the board. After media timeout, they're chanting Luis' name! One to open, chooses 5. $10. Howie: "And now I'm Jewish and I believe in Christmas!" The Bankress must be a satanist. $217,000 is the offer.

NO DEAL. One to open. On the stage, Kizzi couldn't believe it herself!

Luis resumes with #17. $75. OH MY GOD. Expected a $400K plus offer, and after the media time-out, the banker gives the final offer (as per the unified rules of the franchise) of $330,000. DEAL? Or NO DEAL? Switch cases? No. Counter-deal. He says NO DEAL. Switch cases time. Does #10 (the 'cheapskate' case based on history), have $750,000? He keeps the case, and in there is...FIVE DOLLARS. Kizzi had the $750,000. I knew it, because #10 never had the million that much in the primetime version; was it because of the models' attractiveness? Who knows.

Also I don't like the new cases. The slender ones from the past were better and those were surely briefcases. These new ones look like makeup kits, who came up with this shit? Bring back the old briefcase designs! This the the first of about 30 planned episodes on CNBC and NBC, starting Wednesday! The first two episodes air at 7pm and 8pm Central Wednesday on CNBC Prime and will rerun for the next four hours afterwards. Record it and enjoy!

Another thing to take from this episode, where are the giveaways? I think the previous Christmas episodes had in between prize giveaways to the audience. In my opinion, this episode doesn't disappoint, but doesn't hold a candle to the past Christmas Deal US episodes in primetime. That pond in the 2008 episode though...

Oh and the banker, could it be a former past Deal US model not in this version? We will see. Not a conspiracy theory at all.

Your Starting Lineup...

First row (L-R): Soraya Yd, Taylor Clark, Katie Luddy, Brenda Lowe, Lani Baker, Megan Abrigo

2nd row (L-R): Jordana de Paula, Neka Stephens, Patricia Kara, Vaeda Mann, Brittany McGowan, Sarati, Mahogany Lox

3rd row (L-R): Olga Safari, Madi Teeuws, Jessica Lee, Ashley Jones, Elissa Ingrid, Natasha Ward, Amanza Smith

Only Patricia, Amanza and Megan are returning models. The rest are new. Unlike the original primetime version, no substitutes as of now, but you never know as the show progresses. I'm trying to get used to these ladies, except for the aforementioned three. Hoping some of the others from the past come back in substitute roles soon.

The 4th annual Christmas special recap on Tuesday.

Introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Morgan Morey. I am a he. Today, the 3rd of December, 2018, I am officially launching a fan blog dedicated to the DEAL or NO DEAL(R) franchise, mainly here in the United States.

I am a big fan of the franchise, dating to when I originally saw the episodes in the mid to late 2000s on NBC. I also remember the 'Lucky Case Game' (Text 59595 to a case, blah blah blah). Never played it originally.

At 'AFTER the DEAL,' you'll find a distinctive play-by-play of every episode the next day from my perspective, analysis, and anything related to Deal US franchise is here. Visit the CNBC site, because that's where it's at beginning Wednesday! Play the online game, and I won $750,000 on my second try!

I don't own the franchise. That's Endemol Shine who does. Sit back, relax, and I promise, no spoilers.

This season, new and returning models, and the cash prize still remains one million dollars. Not half-a-million like the syndicated version (never liked the daytime version, but it is still Deal US).

The ride begins tonight on NBC at 9pm Central. The 4th edition of the Christmas special, dating back to the 2006-07 season. I wonder what they will give out to the audience this year; mistletoe anyone?

Also let's see if there is any product placements. In the five (counting syndication) seasons of Deal US, there were product placements left and right. From Kay Jewelers and Clorox to 3 Musketeers, who know what will come next?

Enjoy the ride folks.
