5.10 "Flying High" Official Play-By-Play

The title of the episode 'Flying High' has nothing to do with flying a plane while high on something like crack cocaine or marijuana. This episode could have a high offer in store for one contestant.

The models are in red, off the shoulder, short sleeved dresses. Meet Shireen Mui, a poker player from Los Angeles. She is in aerospace sales, in which she sells parts and pieces for airplanes. She wants to use the money to fix her home and adopt a child. Let's go!

She chooses #20. It is the second time Amanza Smith's case has been picked. She has been picked only once, and that was (I believe) in the 200th episode, aired November 2008. The 'Speed Deal' episode.

6 to open:
15: $500
8: $50
4: $750
12: $1000
2: $50,000
25: $200,000

Not bad of a first round. Bankress calls. $26,000 is the said offer. What does Shireen do? Of course, NO DEAL.

5 to open:
11: $75,000
23: $25,000
17: $400,000
9: $10
19: $750,000

A roadblock here. Bankress calls, the offer is down to $19,000. The million is still out there. In Shireen's supporters corner, is her boss, a co-worker, and her husband.

After the media time out...4 to open:

21: $500,000
3: $10,000
26: $1,000,000!!!!
16: $100

Rough third round. What will the Bankress do for an offer? It hit rock bottom. $2,000. Shireen's idol, Maria Ho, arrives with a case in hand. Ho opens the case, and it's chips and cards courtesy of the World Poker Tour (WPT). Ho mentioned that this offer is the complete home game, plus a game hosted by WPT pros, and the chance to commentate WPT TV event, plus a chance to get a seat to play in the Los Angeles WPT event. In addition, a one on one session with Ho herself. The total of the WPT offer is $12,000. Grand total is $14,000. Shireen says, NO DEAL!

After the media time out...3 to open:

5: $200
13: $5
1: $300

Better stuff here. $300,000 still in play. 6, 7, 10, 14, 18, 22, 24 and Shireen's cases are active. Bankress wants to speak to Shireen's husband, but he began to be cowardly as Howie comes over there. Something comes down from the rafters of the arena in which Shireen's husband plans to do it, which is an offer from the Bankress. After the media time out, Shireen's husband is in a vest, but not a straight jacket. Shireen's biggest offer is the biggest of the night: $30,000. She says NO DEAL.

Let's kick it up a notch. Eddie, Shireen's husband, is lifted up. He's not afraid of heights after all. I remember that this is NOT a DEAL US first. It's been done before. Believe me.

2 to open:
7: $75
22: $100,000.

6 cases in play: 6, 10, 14, 18, 24 and Shireen's case. Eddie is lowered down because he could puke. Great call. Bankress calls, the offer is lower than previous: $22,000. Shireen's decision? NO DEAL, of course.

1 to open:
6: (after the media time out) $1!!!!!

5 cases in play: 10, 14, 18, 24 and Shireen's case. Bankress calls. $41,000 is the offer. A possible counter offer here? Shireen's verdict: NO DEAL!

1 to open:
14: $25!!!

4 cases in play: 10, 18, 24 and Shireen's case #20. Expect an higher offer, as the Bankress calls. The offer is now $63,000. Shireen is thinking counter offer here. She will counter for $85,000. Bankress calls again. She says NO DEAL.

1 to open:
18: $400!

3 cases in play: 10, 24 and Shireen's case #20. Expect an higher offer as the Bankress calls. The offer is now $105,000, just $2,000 off the Stan Stava Line. Will Shireen take it? Her husband wants her to do it. She will.

But where was the $300,000? Was it in #10? It was. #20 had the penny, while #24 had $5,000. Great way to leave the game in style. This was from January 9. A new episode followed the following Wednesday on CNBC. I'll review it once I see it.

  1. case 5 is also the least-picked case in the show, having been picked a total of just 5 times (1 with amanza, 1 with marisa i think, and the others with alike)
